The Journey Begins…

Well, we’re here. Whether we like it or not (which we do), we now have a mortgage, a game room, and 45 years of deferred maintenance to battle. This blog will follow our journey of taking a house from 1960, pouring our sweat and soul into it, and making it our own. We know it’s going to take a lot of work and time, but we also know it will pay off in the end. Follow us as we remodel this Texas ranch house into a modern living space.

    Joel,
I see that you are quite busy these days, yet please post some more pix when you get a chance.
Also, I was turned on to Atomic-Ranch magazine by a friend. It has some good ideas, yet many of the homes look tooooo modern for my region, as I have to consider resale appeal. Do you have any other reading suggestions that might be well suited for rehabbing a mid-west ranch into a contemporary yet cozy space?

    Ivan,

Thanks for your comments. We will be posting updates soon. I’ve been really busy with work since the new year, but we’re still plugging away on the house. I will be posting soon about the bathroom upgrades and starting the wood flooring. As far as other reading, go to a Lowe’s if you have one nearby and check out their selection of magazines and books. That’s what we tend to look through when coming up with ideas.

    Joel
